[updated:LAST EDITED ON 19-Oct-02 AT 00:07 AM (EST)]Ken,
I talked to you last week about the recent Diablo V-10 "secret" .I have been extremely busy the past several days and haven't had time to call.I will contact you soon and see if it's available for the EGB3(I think)code. What I have in mind is leaving the current program alone and adding say a 93 octane program with the "secret".
Any opinions?
I'll call soon.
Thanks
Basically, the V10 stock program doesn't have "open loop" programming enabled in order to meet fleet mileage requirements. Open loop programming is a different tune at about 80-90% throttle through 100% throttle. It has more power at the expense of mileage (but people generally don't drive with the throttle wide open). We can now enable this. It means more power at wide open throttle at the expense of mileage when you floor it.
>Well, its not really a secret, just a teaser!

Thread Hijack
Speaking of the Diablo for the V10, or SCMT for that matter. Do either one of these help low end torque significantly? I know these engines don't produce a lot until you get over to the mid 2000's. Any help appreciated.
IMHO,yes!
I added the Diablo chip on top of a Banks Power Pack system and the chip makes the engine whole lot more responsive to the go pedal at all rpm's.
Thanks 4x, I just needed to know cause the low end is not too impressive below 2k. I was towing a friend out of a back-hoe made rut and was on a hill in reverse ( no other way to get to his truck in the mountains) and got him out of the rut but couldn't get him any further out of the hole. Truck just wouldn't go, no tire spin, nothing. Not sure if reverse gear made the difference or not???? Bottom line need more ooomph low in the power band. The other truck was a 73 Bronco.

No tire spin...Did you try low range? Seems like you should be able to spin your tires on any non-paved surface in both high and low.
No spin. Pretty sure it was the combo of being hooked to the other guys truck, in reverse, in 4hi, and backing up a 15-20 degree hill. Hopefully the diablo will cure my problem!!!!
