I need a drive shaft for my 78 f250... does anyone know if I can interchange wiht a different shaft or do I have to look for my particular year and model?? Thanks for the help!
Is yours a 2 piece driveshaft? I have a 2 pc. shaft left over from a 79 F250 that had a 400M and NP435 trans. If you need a picture of it I can send you one to see if it looks like yours
I bought the truck without a front shaft so I dont really know what it looks like... I need to measure the distance from the t-case to the front pinion so I know that I am getting the right length...I am guessing it will fit though... willing to ship? how much for it?
Hello, welcome. Is the truck lifted? If so how much? This will make a difference. I just spent $1027.00 on my front drive shaft because I have lots of lift. I needed an extreme angle, extreme duty driveshaft. I wasted $200 here, $300 there on other shafts that just wouldnt work. I finally had to bite the bullet. Pulling the trigger on that SUCKED!! Mike
It will make a difference on length of the drive shaft if it has a auto or manual transmission, and the front axel will also make a difference in the length. A Dana 60 will have a shorter drive line than a D44. Also as mentioned above, if the truck is lifted a bunch, all bets are off.
