Ran with the AE

I got everything together today with the axle and plugged in my auto enginuity. I found that the oil pressure drops after a certain throttle position. I've saw 2800 PSI under half throttle, and anything above that seems to just tank. It will drop from 2800 PSI to 1600 PSI. I'm still collecting data and trying to figure out how to work the program. Is there a way I can print out a select bunch of graphs over a period of time instead of watching it live? Well thats what I have for now. . . let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

When you record data, it asks you to create a file name. The file is stored in "Saved Data" in the Autoenginuity folder on your computer, by default in Program Files. The file can be opened in Excel and you can print graphs from there.

Are you still running the stock HPOP, or do you have something bigger? The stock HPOP will drop pressure when the oil demand is too high.

Hey, good luck with that. Is that your HPOP #s at the rail? Not good sign there. Take your time. I've spent my time fooling with mine in my patrol car trying to convince those good folks at the garage that my car is overheating and the AC is cycling off. As if they need a graph to see me sweating like a pig but the snap-on shows no codes and all is well. My ****. It takes quite a bit of fooling around to unleash this tool. When I show them something they do more drooling than fixing.

I know when you get into bigger injectors with big tunes that a stock pump can get weak up top. . . but it won't go from 2800 PSI to 1600 PSI in a split second. This is some sort of PCM deal. i do get the code i think its P1211, for too low oil pressure. i wonder if its that ICP. its the only thing related to the problem that has changed since I noticed the problem. . . . and it is slightly different from the original. I'll just have to do some more testing.
Any more comments are greatly appreciated.

stock mode

Well i went for lunch today and monitered some of my sensors on the stock setting. The pump even at wide open throttle was able to keep up. . . .it was up at about 2600-2700 PSI. So that makes me curious as to whether the higher settings are just too demanding. i'm going to record a session with the throttle position(if I can find it), ICP, Duty cycle, RPM, Pulse width and a few others to really be able to see what is causing the drop in pressure. Any thoughts please post em

Sounds to me like you need twin HPOPs with your setup. Any reason you haven't done that yet?

Twin HPOP's... DO IT DO IT. I've had mine one for just a few days and it's great.

choosing twins

Its either twin pumps or twin screws. And since I already have the screws made. . . no twin pumps. I'm looking at single units like the "unreleased" Pulse from dieselsite. . . and looking into the possibilities of making a 6L pump work. So far however. . . i think i have found that the pump is strong enough. Still doing more scanning.

He doesn't have enough room with the two turbos mounted under the hood. I agree though, more oil pressure would definately help.

better graphing

I need better graphing that i can printout with this thing. I wish there was a way to print out an entire recorded session onto a graph. But i think I'm making headway. We'll see.

at 1600psi of oil pressure you are only getting 11,200psi of injection pressure at the tip. That sucks, to be honest. Lots of smoke, poor atomization, and less power. Defanitely need some big oil!
