Check the wires behind the radio. Clip the illumination wire behind the radio and cap it off with tape or heat shrink tubing. Then see if it works.

the only illumination wire i have back there is for the dome light and a buzzer, none of the wires back behind my raido light up the dash, and my wiring harness is all crazy, i dont have a #4 witch on digrams show is the main power into the damn thing! im receving main power through pin #5 witch says is the seat belt and door buzzer.

i am truly confused.

I would check the radio and cigar lighter light for a direct short as these are the usual spots for people to screw with the wiring.

i think im just going to have to start taking wires one at a time and isolate the problem.

thanks for all the help

and if anyone know's one way to get more power and sound from my truck without having to buy a full catback exhaust system id appreaciate it
