I always pull the speed sensor off the top if the diff and fill it there. Leave the check plug out so you know when it's full of course.

Rear is all done, went really well. Usually i find something broken or a different area that needs attention but was all done under an hour.

Next project I want to attack is the front differential cover, any ideas on this one? Looks better then the rear but still want it updated to a new cleaner cover that doesn't brake the bank. If no good options may just remove, clean, and paint the original.

This information is now incorrect.


Transfer Case fluid called Motorcraft xl-12 is what should be used in the transfer case's. Mercon V has presented issues and may not be formulated correctly.

That is good to know. I was going to do Spirax equivalent of Mercon V
