Draft N wireless...

Draft N wireless...
Well... I've done it... tried to upgrade to Draft N... bought the router and the card and made sure my internet service would support whatever this mysterious technology is... trouble is... my 'puter doesn't like the card I got...
My puter has this thing with similar internal construction (from flashlight view)
what the heck goes there? is it even a wireless card slot?

My Alienware has the same thing. It is not a wireless card slot, it is called an Express card slot. An Express card from what I understand is similar or performs the same function as a camera card. If your laptop is newer it should have a mini PCI which is an internal wireless card. Look at the bottom of your computer, should be a cabinet marked "PCI" or something to that effect. If yours didnt come with the mini PCI they are cheap. I think I picked mine up for $30 from Newegg, and it isnt hard to install. Hope this helps.

That helps... alienware and dell XPS are the same, and I have a XPS. Its a good machine... I was just looking to upgrade to Draft N... G is too slow or rather the XPS wireless card is too slow... but its internal like you pointed out, I don't know if you can remove it or not...
