I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT WHERE THE CODE IS ON MY TRUCK. I HAVE A 1997 FORD F-350 4X4 460 AUTO REG CAB. I WANT TO FIND THE CODE SO I CAN ORDER A CHIP. I LLOKED BEHIND THE KICK PANEL, BUT I DIDNT SEE IT. I WANT TO KNOW IF I HAVE TO REMOVE THE E-BRAKE SUPPOT BRACKET THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP !!!!!!
On the drivers side, under dash area, behind the kick panel . Look for a small silver box about 1 1/2 inches thick, 8 inches wide and about 10 inches long. The code will be on it or on the wiring harness going into it.
If you can't find it there, open the hood and look for the ECU connector:
On the side of the connector or on the edge of the box it connects to, facing away from the inner fender, you'll see the code. Its the largest letting you'll see.
It can come out by removing the e-brake or through the engine compartment. We supply instructions for removing it via the engine compartment. We don't supply the instructions online because we don't want our experience and work putting together the instructions to be stolen by other dealers. Some have poor ethics and have even gone so far as stealing animations from one of our banner graphics.
