How low do you want to go ? On the front - 1 to 1-1/2" (maybe even 2") is probably doable cheaply (cut the coil springs), more than that can and will require some outlay, like the bars/axles mentioned by Franklin 2 above.
The rear maybe a little more, but serious dropping is going to require frame notching.
I read an article somewhere that you can barely get away with 2 inches of drop with lowering or cut springs. Then you have to go with the dropped axle which gives you about 3 inches, which they said will in total give about 5 inches of drop.
Or you can ditch the whole frontend and put a mustang II crossmember on it. I think fatman fabrications makes one. But that would not be cheap.
On the old 50's trucks they cut the whole front of the frame off and put one from a car on it and drop it that way, but you really have to know what you are doing to tackling something like that.
