Ih there i am not a big ford person but i have a frined who is and he has a problem he or i can not figure out so here gose he has a 302 the was cooling just fine untill he put on and aftermarket serpintine belt system that required a revirse flow water pump the he put on now he can't keep it cool is thhere a differnts in the timeing /waterpump cover on the revirce flow pump
there are about 500 water pumps for the 302, all with the same part number. His best bet is to go to a junk yard and take some pictures of other setups so he gets it all working good. maybe it has something to do with the heater hose & Bypass. Also, what I did with my 302 was drill some(3-4) 1/4 inch holes in the flange of the thermostat to make additional bypass parts so the engine would run a little cooler.
Question: Did he put the thermostat in the right way? they are directional
