Damm Plugs

I have a problem. I changed my plugs the other day as you all know. My truck worked great. I haven’t driven it in a couple of days. I got in it today and it started right up but when it idled down it was very rough. I tried to drive it and it was worst. The SES light came on. Could I have had a plug back out? Any ideas on what’s going on?

What plugs did you put in it? Its common for you to get an SES light if you dont use either Autolite or Motorcraft plugs.
For some reason these engines just dont like any other brand of plugs.

I'd guess you knocked a vacuum hose loose or forgot to plug the MAF back in. You will usually get a hiss with a vacuum leak, you can start pinching hoses to see what happens or spray some TB cleaner on them, if you hit a leak the engine will pick up speed.

If you have plug wires one may not have seated very well. I would check this first. The back passenger side wires can be a little tricky to put all the way on.

First thing you should do is pull the code really.

You think it is going to hurt it to drive it to the shop?

Another thing I just thought of. I wonder if it could have anything to do with the fuel rail. Not sure if that would give a SES light.

Check all injector connections as well.

Also, did you use anti-seize on the plugs? If so, how much? Anti-seize getting on the insulator can cause severe fouling.
