running rough

ok 93 f150 I6 5-spd manual. i parked it for about a week because i was driving my other car to save gas go to start it today for a drive and its running rough with no power under acceleration. it went a way for a bit but then cam eback and hasnt gone away since. the check engine light hasnt come on. any ideas? it was running fine when i parked it

Is it possible that there is water in the fuel? How much fuel was left in the tank when you started it?

there was about a quarter tank but the problem started after i filled the tank again

Can you be a little more specific about the way that it's running. What does running "rough" mean? Is it sputtering, surging, choking, etc?

its almost like a cylinders missing is the best way i can describe it. its got no power and the whole truck shakes when u step on the gas wiether its under load or not. it doesnt smell like its burning rich and it does it warm or cold idle or full throttle.

If you have a 2nd tank, try switching to that tank. If that does not help then my next guess would be the EGR valve.

only got one tank lol and i tried un plugging the egr and it did nothing the check engine light didnt even come on. could a colgged cat be doing this?

When you say that you tried unplugging the EGR, what did you unplug? The sensor? The valve is what would most likely be malfunctioning and therefore unplugging the sensor would not do a whole lot...

I supposed it could be a clogged cat. You can test your cat by using a touchless temp gun. Run the truck for a while to get the cats thoroughly warm, shoot the front of the cat with a temp gun, record temp, shoot the rear of the cat with the temp gun, record. Compute the percentage difference between the two. The rear should be hotter than the front but by no more than 10%. Let me know if you need help calculating the percentage.

when i say i unplugged the egr i unplugged the green vaccum line going to it. this is what i should have unplugged right? i will check my cats but the truck shakes a lot at idle so im starting to think its not the cats. any other ideas?
