460 Chips
Wonderful site ya got here!
I was curious to know if your outfit or anyone else you know has chips for dual fuel applications, I read through all the posts here and only found one that was applicable and the result was negative due to spark and valve timing concerns(resulting in big bang problems)
I am not aware of all the things that the propane switch over module does, but I don't belive it changes timing, rather it adjusts the O2 codes, and shuts off the injectors keeping the computer happy and the injectors from pulsing needlessly.
If it were possible, what I would like to do is move the torque and Hp curve closer to my cruise rpm of 2100-2200, rather than regear for the 2700 rpm that seems to be the powerband now
The propane is for economy (read $, not mileage) not power purposes and I am willing to use premium fuel to accomodate better performance when on propane due to timing curve changes as I only use gasoline to make to my next propane fill up and keep the tank fairly fresh
The setup is this;
96 F250 HD 460ci OBD1 dual K&N cone filters, no cat (Thinking of upgrading to a 4 in exh, no headers), & a FordSupport IV alternate fuel switching box w/o O2 reaction sensor(Helps monitor and adjust mixture by controlling atomspheric pressure on the propane Vapourizer diaphragm) and a Vialle Type -F propane vapourizer and venturi system.
I suspect there has not been alot of research in North America as to propane characteristics and computer programs to accomadate this but it would be nice to be wrong, please do not spend a lot of time on this, I can see by this forum you are a very busy fella.
There is always cams and compression to play with
Thanks for your time
