Lift/Spring question

I have to say I LOVE this site. it's nice to see old Ford folks online. Kinda nice to have a support group for us men since our wives probably hate our trucks..lol {mine does}
Anyway my question....85 150 short bed, 351, NP 435 3 speed with low granny gear.{guess that would be a 4 speed}
They guy I bought it from added a 3 inch body lift, and added I think a block in the leaf springs in the back for his trailer since it made the truck sag in the rear, I am getting ready to replace the bushing in the front end and figured I would replace the front coils since the truck sits up high in the rear.
Kinda doing a poor mans lift...I'm not sure what size "over stock" springs to get. In other words, how much "sag" will stock springs have in them. Don't want to get the front end too high. From just looking at it it looks as if I need about 4 inches of front lift.

You can't lift it too far or your front end will be out of line. I would not go over 1 1/2 inches maybe two. My friend put air bags in the front end of his truck. It worked good they go in side the front coils and you just blow them up with an air chuck to the hight you want.

Don't kid yourself, you can't get a 4 inch lift and avoid spending all the money on a 4 inch lift kit.

You are going to need the TTB drop mounts too. There is no way you'll be able to align the thing with 4" lift springs and no drop mounts.

Oh, and you are going to need extended shocks too.

Why not just take the blocks out? Do you really need all that lift?
