Judging wealth by what somebody does to their truck and then gauging your socio-economic status on that basis isn't good. Because somebody might pour thousands into their truck, yet be living in a trailer park and eating MacNCheese every night. They might have their priorities backwards.
Example:
Them: 1st Truck, 2nd Jewerly, 3rd iPod/iPhone, 4th Family, 5th Food/Shelter
You: 1st Family, 2nd Food/Shelter, 3rd Kids.College, 4th Truck, 5th Accessories
So I wouldn't worry about. If you got the money, great. If you don't have the money, let it be. I'd like to pour $6,000 into lifts, wheels, etc into my new 2008. But then the daycare bills, grocery bills, etc all show up and then IO realize, Family 1st..
