Plz dont jump all over me people I no leveling kit question's are all over this site. So after a hour of searching Im just going to ask. Will a 2.5inch kit level out my 2wd I no it will a 4wd but a 2wd nose dives more. quite a bit more. If some one has a 2wd with a lvl kit on it would you chime in plz so I can take a peek at your gallery (if you have pics). Thanks
A 2.5" AS leveling kit will give you a perfectly level truck, but if you might want to consider a 2" leveling kit instead if you plan on putting anything in the bed, b/c it will give you the as$ dragging look if you do.
lol thanks for the heads up b/c I do tow some hefty things.
P.S. I have had this thought runnin through my head lately, Can I get a shorter shackle for the back or would it not let my leafs flex right. Do companies make these or is there another vehicle's that would fit it but be a little shorter? I could shorten mine if I want to I guess. But would this work? Just a thought.....
I have a 2" autospring and it leveled my 4x4.
On a 2x4 I would probably go with a 2" kit or you may end up buying an add a leaf kit for the rear to get rid of the bulldog look.
I want to raise it.... see if im right here.... The leaf's bolt to the top of the shackle, The bottom is bolted to the frame, so wouldnt that mean in order to raise it I would need a shorter one. To me it also seems Kinda safer b/c the shackle should be stronger if its shorter.
Yeah here's another vote for the 2"...I have a 2.5" on my '06 and it's borderline too high in the front....if I could do it over again I would go with the 2".
I have a 2wd and went with the 2" leveling kit. In fact I ended up getting a add a leaf because I felt the front was too high after the 2" kit. LOL I will find the link with pics for you.
Here is a link to mine with 2" in front and add a leaf in the rear. Slight rake, but exactly what I wanted. It would look really good with a 2.5" and add a leaf though.
mbogosia your truck looks real good. Are the add a leafs hard to install? What do you have to do? Did your mpg suffer any? One last question, Would a 2.5 front and a ad a leaf sit lvl our would it be like a 2 in front with no add a leaf? Because I do, do some hefty towing and I dont want to "Bulldog".

tough question. I think you can rule out just a 2.5". It will make your nose way too high. I like my combination because I can still haul and tow stuff and not be nose high. I had the add a leaf installed at a 4x4 shop for about $275 total(parts and labor). No noticeable loss in mpg either. Good luck with your truck.
Guess I will just have to dig out the old tape mesure and do some old fashion math.(which isnt my strong point Might come out of this figuring 6inch lift lol) Does any one no how much hieght a add a leaf adds?
Just thought of this while taking a shower, How do you jack the truck up?

I have never seen those but I am sure they will work okay. A brand that everyone here uses is called autospring and can be found on ebay. The reason a Add A Leaf can be better is because in addition to a slight lift they increase your load capacity where a rear spacer doesn't.
I think i might go with 2.75 in front and 1.5 in rear. It should still give me a little nose dive according to my calculations. (which are probably wrong If 2.5 is perfectly lvl then a 2.75 will give me a .25 taller in front, and with a 1.5 rear the back should be about 1.25in taller than the front. So wouldnt that be a little better than the back being .5 taller? This should all be right the measurements for the spacers say "from factory ride height".
