Have a f550 f motor truck ran out of diesel now it wont start. We added a half tank of fuel spray starter fluid in intake but it kicks but doesnt run. Is there a bleeding procedure??

Cycle the key on & off about 6 or 8 times to purge the fuel lines. Also DO NOT USE STARTING FLUID as these motors have glow plugs in them and you can blow stuff up.

Also if you cannot get it running you may have damaged the injectors or fuel pump. These trucks do not take kindly to running them out of fuel.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply blackhat620 I figured it was a bad idea to use starter fluid but the guy at my shop insisted. He also insisted on opening the fuel filter and filling it with fuel. I spent about a half an hour back and forth with the key and nothing. Is there anything else i could try.

Did you cycle the ignition multiple times and then find the engine well fuel filter empty and have to fill it? If so, the fuel pump is probably not working. Even if it is the fuel pump now, watch closely for signs of future injector problems once the fuel pump is repaired/replaced.
