Rear Leaf Question

Unloaded my truck sits just slightly higher in the rear but with my Bronco on the trailer (Class IV ball hitch) and the bed loaded with parts, tools and other junk the rear drops just a tad more than I would like. It still handles great but I could use a little rear leaf boost. Superlift has an affordable add a leaf set for it but what do you guys think is the best route - a set of SD spring packs from the UPull or what?

Does your truck have the helper springs? If not go to a salvage yard and get the helper springs (2), spacers (2), U-bolts (8), frame mounted stops (4) (the frame mounted stops are riveted to the frame and the rivets have to be cut off, use grade "8" bolts to mount them to your truck, your frame already has the holes for them).
Here's a link to the parts at LMC Truck so that you can see what you need: Parts # 20, 21, 22 & the U-bolts: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fd/0115.asp

Adding the helper springs will not change your ride unloaded, it just helps as weight is added to the truck. This is the way that I would go.

Thanks plowhand. Those parts are a little pricey but I'm sure it'll do the trick. I'll mull it over a little more. I'd like to spend less than that on it.

Take a look at the air bags. Not sure of the price. I have considered thes for when I pull the 5thwheel. I know alot of people that have them and are very happy. You can air them up when towing and let it down when not and never make a stiff ride.

I was not recommending that you buy the parts from LMC, I just posted that link so that you could see the parts that are needed. I would get the parts from a salvage yard.

I have helper springs and coilover heavy duty shocks from NAPA, and I can load my 25 foot, 10 ton Gooseneck with a 16,000 lbs loader/backhoe and the truck only goes down 6-7 inches. I have hauled a ton and a half of seed peanuts in the bed and not bottomed out the springs. Of course it rides alittle stiff for some people, but my wifes does not thing it's too bad. Just my .02.
