Installed my Diablo Delta chip in my 2001 PSD F350 and it is great. I tow a 24ft trailer with 6 motorcycles and all associated gear in it for my roadracing team. On a trip from San Diego to Palmdale CA the truck would shift out of OD into third at the slightest hint of a hill. With the chip and a 4" downtube it just flies over the hills. I have been towing in the 54HP mode. I have read posts where the truck owner says they cant tell the difference, I think they have a problem. Empty in the 78HP mode it really flies, thanks again. al:-)
Concerning people who say they don't feel the difference... I recently had a customer order a 54HP/100+HP combination (release form required because of the 100+HP program). He told me he couldn't tell the difference and that the 100+HP program wasn't "smoking like my buddie's does". I told him to reclean the contacts and he insisted that they were clean.
Well, to make a long story short after he called us after getting his third chip (all with the same programs) we told him that we couldn't help him any more and that if he'd send back the chip we'd refund his money.
..........Three hours later he calls and says "it works great now after I recleaned the contacts and I'll go ahead and keep it." Hmmmmmm, after all the money we wasted on shipping.
If anything else, it shows that you are a very reputable dealer and stand behind your product. I am very impressed. Looks like at spring time, you will be getting my buisness for a Diablo Delta chip.
hey ken you did awsome with my diablo delta chip on my psd. once i got it on i almost called up one of my friends to come over to racemy cobra vs. my f-250 PSD but then i was like well what if my truck wins and i could live with my self if that happened
ok, got a ? about this chip.I've heard "this truck can smoke a mustang" and "this truck can leave a ricer in the dust" etc... my truck was smoked by a 4wd dodge dually...by about 4 truck lengths from 40 until I hit the limiter....does it really make the truck as fast as a mustang, or is it just alot faster than normal? stock my 2000 2wd SC PSD with 1 toolbox and ladder racks runs 17.84 in the 1/4. I have ordered the diablo chip(54hp and 78hp) and hopefully it will be here in a few days. what can I really expect?
With the Powerstroke, yes, it'll dust many Mustangs in the 78HP mode. However, its a matter of which Mustang. GT or Cobra, no way. Also, depends on where you are in the RPM curve and if he's expecting it at the light. Regardless, people are in for a big surprise because of them won't expect the kind of power they'll see from your truck.
ok chip is here, chip is installed. now I can't seem to find anybody that wants to race but I can say it is unbeliveable how much more power I have on tap now. with my only other chip experience being a JetII in a 2000 dodge ram 5.9 I really had doubts but we all live and learn don't we. This is great
Scott in cinci. how does the trans shift with the Diablo? I am looking for a chip that has firm shifts and holds in gear longer when pulling a grade. Also in stock trim my converter wont lock in until the trans shifts into O.D.
Ken I talked with your partner today about the shifting of Delta chip vs. Microtuner. She is going to contact Diablo to see if Converter lock up times can be programed to different settings. I received the Superchips Microtuner from you, and the power is great but shift firmness and converter lock up are the same as stock. Can the converter lock up schedule in fact be changed. Thanks for the help. Great web sight!!!!!!
The Microtuner is not dealer servicable. Yes, we can change the torque converter lockup parameters. Peggy had to call Diablo because I've been out of town (and sick) so she did not have me available to answer questions.
Thanks Ken. Peggy was very helpful and got back with me right away. I e-mailed her my code and she is getting the program set up with Diablo. Hope your feeling better, and next time you should stay home when your sick.
