D44 Upgrade
I was wondering if anyone has upgraded their Dana 44's with the chrome moly shafts.
I was looking on broncograveyard and i see they have them listed for f150's.
*Which kit would be the right one for my 79 f250??
*Also, i have rebuilt 9" rears before but ive never taken apart any thing else so, is this upgrade of the axles any harder than that?

The upgrade is pretty straight foward as long as you don't remove the carrier from the axle. Most manufacturers that offer aftermarket shafts are quality stuff.
Looking at those meats, and I am thinking you might be pushing the limits of the 44, and 9", even with chro-mo's. Would a 1 ton upgrade cost less in the long run?
If you are driving the truck hard enough to needs cho-mo shafts, I would think a larger shaft would be a good idea too.
