Surging at WOT

While using preditor set on any hp setting truck surges violently when accelerating. When TCC is locked it feels like the motor is coming out of the truck. Truck makes plenty of power and turbo spools up good. Does anyone have a guess at what this is?

Diablo Preditor

P.S. no problems when stock tune is installed.

You answered your own question! The "PREDATOR" module is the problem. These are known to cause issues and engine & transmission problems with the 6.0. Do a search lots of info on the problems with the "Predator" and the 6.0.

Have you successfully run the Predator on this truck before? Has your truck been re-flashed by FMC?

I have been using the preditor for 125000 miles. I thik it is unlikely to start causing problems now. Did I forget to mention the truck ran great until ford flashed it when they were told not to.

Well if it is in the dealer for repairs, the tech as per FMC is supposed to update to the latest flash availble. Sounds like you are going to need to get ahold of Diablo and have them update your "Predator" so that it can be used with the latest PCM flash. This is basically required with all chips & tuners.

Good luck

Contact DiabloSport direct and talk to there tech, it is definitely an issue with the Predator not correctly identifying and working with the new FMC program in the PCM. DiabloSport should have an update for this.

I do know the lastest programs from FMC did away with using the EP sensor, so now the PCM strictly uses the MAF & MAP sensor to control the turbo. The DiabloSport Predator probably cannot deal with this in its present tune. So an updated tune from DiabloSport is more than likely needed.
