I know...thats why I said "a fuel filter" not "the fuel filter"....just didn't feel that it was necessary to go into that much detail as the question was about the oil filter.

Still haven't gotten a realistic answer to what that big hunk of stuff is on the DS frame rail at the rear (outside frame rail) ?????????

It doesn't appear to have much of a function, unless, like I stated before it's a harmonic dampener of sorts, to reduce felt frame vibrations...

I looked in the manual and I can't find the thinga magigi

Maybe it’s the reserve oil container for the muffler bearing?<O</OOr maybe it’s a containment area for all the annoying squeaks and rattles you can’t find.
