Help!! Pedal vibration

Hey all, I did my ccv mod and my 6637 napa filter mods yesterday. Took her for a test drive, and at idle im getting a pretty good vibration in both brake & go pedals. Feels like its in sync with rpm's of motor. Also I had a sensor in the oem filter box (firewall side) that I didnt know what it was. I temp. wire tied it up out of way. Any help on these 2 would be much appreciated. The pedal vibration has got me worried. Just like me to fix one thing and break 2 other ,LOL. Thanks, Bill By the way its an 02 psd 7.3 2 wd - xc-sb 78,000 miles -all stock.

That is the IAT (Intake Air Sensor) and with the 6637 most just zip tie it to the master cylinder. Just keep it as close to the filter as posible and as far away from engine heat as possible.

As far as the vibration only thing I can think of is the CCV line vibrating on the master cylinder or hydroboost, How did you route it.

Alan - Yes I routed it right behind master cylinder bolt in 3/4 heater hose. There is that much vibration in this hose? Do I need to insulate this to keep vibration out? Where is hydro boost ? Thanks ,Bill

Hydro Boost is right below the master cylinder it is what the brake pedal is attached to. I have mine routed straight down so its not hitting anything, any vibration from the engine could be transmitted through the hose, grab the hose at idle and see if you can feel any vibration in it.

Alan I tried this and no vibration in hose but the edge of the 6637 filter was rubbing against corner of master cylinder. There is heavy vibration from turbo thru pipe to new filter . Is this normal? I cut a small piece of rubber and stuck in between there and it is better but still feel small amount of vibration in brake pedal at idle. Once im running it is gone. Took a 80 mile test run with the wife this morning and average mileage was 15.9- This is about 1 mile better than i was getting before mods. Breathing better must make a difference. Thanks again for all your help. Have a good sunday. Just wondering if you are a Ford mechanic, seems like it ?

No just been around the 7.3 since the old IDI days. It was probably coming from the 6637 rubbing the master cylinder, you might try rotating the intake pipe a liitle to see if you can get a little more clearance.

Thanks again - I pull a 9000# travel and was wondering if 4" exhaust would help to increase mileage or would money be better spent on a chip. If so what chip is good for a tow mode hp increase. I gather from reading here that staying under 80 hp boost would be advised. Bill

One of the best chips is www.dp-tuner.com he has several tunes available that can be switched on the fly depending on load or terrain to keep EGT's in check. The addition of gauges before chipping is highly recommended, you want to be able to monitor Boost, EGT (Exhaust Temp), and Tranny temp (if it is an auto). The 4' or even a 5" exhaust will help lower EGT's more that anything but some do see a little mileage increase
