new injectors no good vibrations
Ok I need some help
just got done installing my new 175 single shot with ts chip and riff raff frx and hpx new glow plugs. And I'm still getting the vibration when I'm driving. Let off pedal it goes away the whole purpose in my wife letting me spend 2 gs on the truck was two get rid of the vibration well the last time I took it to the stealership they said its the idm. Well aftertalking with some people they told that the problem wasn't the idm but the injectors were going since I'm sporting 230+ on the od now I'm out of money and still have vibrations
Don't get me wrong vibrations aren't as bad like when I had a couple of really bad inj still strong enough to rattle the crape under the dash sounds like the truck rattling change at me.
And one more how in the h3ll is everyone getting the big a$$ 6637 filter in there I cant close my hood drivers side is up almost an inch.....

Injectors to remove vibration? I take it this was a real rough idle.
- Vibration at different speeds - like it's there at 36-42 MPH but not at other speeds?
- Does acceleration quiet the vibration as well as deceleration?
- All the time, or with a warm/cool transmission/truck?
- Have you inspected your tires - particularly the inside tread of your front tires?
- Have you "rattle tested" your carrier bearing?

Ugh...
I did my slip joint yesterday...
The rearmost ujoiny was stuck in the yoke when i was getting everything apart... so i just left it...
Until after fighting with the axle and carrier bearing to get it lined up for almost an hour...
With the axle totally free from the yoke... it got a lot easier...
My clunk went away going into drive/reverse...
38-42mph bounce is still there...
Ujoints and carrier bearing next eh?

My truck has the 36-42 mph bounce also, it is a dually, drives me nuts sometimes! found this on another site, i have yet to try it, sounds logical though. i don't know if you can post link to other sites, so if i have done something wrong, please smack my hand.... Finally got my DRW to stop bouncing - Diesel Forum - The Diesel Stop.com

I've been told by multiple respected sources that the 36-42 MPH growl is a common symptom of the carrier bearing being worn out. My driveline guy left my old one on because it wasn't noisy - but everything else is rebuilt. I think I got hosed... I should have hammered him at the time. I still need to confirm this.

you have to remove the whole airbox not just the lid. Ill post up a pic. of what i mean cause you dont have to remove the whole intake system.

[IMG][/IMG] this is what you have to remove
[IMG][/IMG] this is with the lid on it
[IMG][/IMG] and thats how it should sit in the engine compartment
[IMG][/IMG] and thats with the hood closed
hopefully that helps you out a bit. there will be 2 screws in the bottom and behind the battery cover. after those are out it will take some force but it'll pop right out and ur filter will fit in there nice and snug you just gotta wiggle it down a little.
