hey do any of you know if the leaf springs on a 69 f100 stepside would fit on a 1970 F100 Shortbed it currently has Flex-O-Matic Springs but i want some regular ones
Hey guys, this might help. SOme measurements and pictures of the actual springs in question?
The rear springs on the 1969 in question are a hair over 48 inches spring bolt to soring bolt with about 100 pounds on the springs. (Not even enough weight to make the bottom leaf touch the rest)
The front bolt to the center pin is around 24 inches as the mosquitoe flies.
The springs have 5 leaves in them. and are NOT the flexomatic type.
The springs could be called 2 - 1/4 inches wide. You have to measure that at the flat parts of the springs. The width measurement at the bolt holes/hangers will be bigger!
Happy to help out if we find that these 1969 stepside F100 springs will fit your truck.
I will immediatly go and post 3 pictures into my photo gallery here on FTE.
The springs on those two F100s should interchange physically, though there may be a slight difference in spring rates. I don't see a problem with swapping them...
