Question

1993 ranger ignition switch replace

How do you change an ignition switch on a 1993 ford ranger , i pulled the plastics around the coluum off but dont see how to release the switch with the key in ?

From: SoCal

Look for a hole on the underside of the steering column. Turn the key to "run" shove a small screwdriver into that hole to press against the spring loaded pin & pull the lock cylinder out.

Changeing ingnition switch

I had to remove steering wheel and remove tilt steering mec. to be able to get to a two inch long tube that reaches the ignition switch to release it . took about an hour to change out and put back together.
