tps mod
Well I did the tps mod on my 97 ex 5spd today, definately noticed a difference but I think I'm still in need of a new tps.
Voltage before was 3.75 WOT .5 idle
Voltage after 4.6 WOT .8 idle
I did notice even at 4.6 WOT I would get the CEL light on from time to time. Also the pedal wouldn't always read when adjusted up, one time it would read voltage increase, the next it would stay at 1.2. Adjusted the WOT down to about 4.2 and it would catch and go most of the time. CEL would come on rarely when feathering (mainly when starting). I'm gonna guess that since it's not always reading voltage the reahstat (yeah it's spelled wrong
) must be going bad.
Funny thing is got the crew back from Ford today... New trans and TPS assembly...Pedal had mud on it..thought OK, maybe someone got in with dirty feet. WOT was 3.8....same as the pedal read before they took the truck in
I'm guessing somebody didn't change the tps but won't know for sure till I talk to the manager Tues.
