Feller's I finally got my timing set where I don't have any pinging. But now I can hear a tapping sound, like a bad lifter (noise wasn't there befor the new heads) pushrod, loose rocker etc... Notice when installing the new chrome valve covers this week that one rocker arm, has a broken oil deflector that set's inside the rocker arm. Could this keep that rocker from getting oil and be my noise???????????

It's called an oil Baffle. The truck sounds good idling. When it's under a load it sounds like there is a bad lifter. Talked to a buddy that is a Ford Parts person (damned good one) looked it up. It's an "Oil Baffle" , hoping that a broken "oil baffle" will keep the rocker arm from getting oil when running more than an idle????? Let Y'all know. Bob
make sure that the valve covers are tall enuff to clear the rocker arms as well. I had to remove the oil deflector shield from the inside of my valve covers when I put on the TFS Twisted Wedge heads and stud mount roller rocker arms to keep it from tapping on the underside of my valve cover.
