Long time no talk...

Well guys, I traded my '98 Expedition with the 3" body lift and 285 Goodyears.

Sadly, I traded it for an '07 Tundra a little more than a month ago. It's a black Double Cab 4x4. Fast as all get out, let me tell you! That 5.7 moves. Every time I get back into my other '98 Expedition, I wish I woulda bought an F150.

Pros: Fast. Spacious interior. Pretty capable in any respect. Side airbags

Cons: Not a Ford. Doesn't have the same ergonomics as my Expedition. Thin paint. Recall possible?

My reason for starting this thread? I miss my Expedition! Ford hit the nail in the head with that Expedition!

Even though I'm stuck with a Toyo now, I would never even consider a Chevy.

hey man there is no denying that toyota knows how to buil a truck! but it's good that you realize that ford is also a dominant truck manufacturer, Just enjoy the toy, the mpg's should be worth it alone!

Trust me, I wanted to. Safety comes first though and with side airbags it gets the nod.

The MPG aint too bad. Since I got the engine broken in (1000 miles for the Toyota) my gas mileage is about 12.5. I just can't stay out of that throttle! Already beat me a V8 Jeep and a new Audi Q7. Just waved at 'em bye! I feel sorry for those rear tires too!

At 18, I'm probably the most diehard Ford guy I know, even while driving a Toyota. I gave up a '03 V8 4runner with about 30K miles to drive a '98 Expedition with about 120K miles at the time.

If you guys have any questions about the new Tundra, I'd be mor than happy to answer them. Oh, and I'm praising the Lord that I'm not one of the 20 with the camshaft failures. Luckily, mine was build in March and in Texas instead of February and Indiana (infected ones).

....and had ~$80K worth of vehicles. When I was your age, I had $1500 worth of Chevy.

Having owned a Sequoia for the past four years with no problems, I've been thinking about one of the new Tundras too. I just can't get comfortable with the front end styling. Hence, when the time comes, I'll probably get a Super Duty.

TRAITOR!!!!

Just buggin' ya! Congrats on the Tundra. My whole opinion on truck makes is that I doesn't really matter what brand it is, as long as it fits your purpose and you get the 30-40k you paid out of it!

I agree with you on Ford hitting the nail on the head with the Expy. I won't trade or sell mine for anything. Well if the price was right.........

Most 18 year old male teens need to be concerned with as many airbags as they can get. Since most are horrible drivers and don't wear their seatbelts. Insurance rates prove that.

Haha, I like to think I'm a pretty good driver. The 4runner and Expedition are still in the family though, I just like to trade them around with my older brother. Now my little brother is beginning on Big Blue (my Expy). Needless to say, I won't let him drive my Tundra. Not after seeing how bad the 4runner crumpled when my dad backed up 4 feet out of the garage.

Yeah, parents are concerned with my safety, so it had to had side airbags.

On a sidenote, I hauled over 2K lbs of stuff today. I took two trips with over 1700lbs of dirt and then a 3rd trip with lava rocks and dirt that needed to go to the recycling center, if you want to call it that. The Tundra handled it flawlessly! Excellent power and brakes!

Here are some pics of 'er with the dirt:

What do you all think?

Before I forget, thank you guys for being so welcoming that I'm driving a Tundra instead of an F150

Nice truck, enjoy it!

When I was your age, I was driving a modified PBR 110 with a bow-mounted 50 caliber canon ... now its an Expy family (my new and favorite boat crew) hauler with a hidden hand-mounted .45 ... the times are changin'...
