Just ran my 04 PSD work truck at the track. That big 4x4, 7,300 lb extra cab ran a 13.8. My buddy said the guy next to him said "Did you see that truck go, that guy has 3 tool boxes on the back". I removed all the tools, spare, hitch and tailgate. I was suprised that the beast still weighed in at 7,300lbs.
The best was on the first run I raced a 07 stock Vette. Girl driver !!. I was not focusing on my light for now so she cut a better one than me. I pulled in front of her at the 60 ft mark and 330 ft. She cut a 2.03 60 ft time vs my 1.84. Way cool leaving in 4WD. At the 1/2way mark she only had me by a fender. She actually beat me by 2 vette lengths but I was still very happy with the results.
Yeah, I love going up against Vettes. They think they're all that. They laugh at my 8K beast pulling up with my helmet and fire jacket on. Requirements because of my times and the NOS. But, they don't know that until it's over.
I used to have a supercharged '94 Vette with a built engine and was one of those rare Vette owners that would actually run the crap out of the car. I know for a fact I would have never taken a 4x4 truck seriously on the street. But times are changing and there are some quick trucks out there! Although, when you're at the track and you see somebody with safety equipment... you have to be an idiot to not know they are quick!
But I don't care what you drag race... being beat by a truck is humiliating!
Cool. I always joke that if I win the lotto I will spend what ever it takes to get my work van in to the elevens. Complete with company logo and ladder rack. I would love to see the look on the faces of the guys I smoke!
Plus about $500 for the studs right ? What method is better cab removal or engine pull ?
Yep plus studs, but shop around a little the price could vary a few hundred dollars on labor. Also you will want to find a mechanic who has done a few 6.0's. As far as Cab Off or Engine out it is up to the guy doing the work, both systems work equally well.
