Mysterious 351m problem
Ok what i got is a 3yr. old rebuilt 351m. rebuilt motocraft carb. evrything is pretty much stock.
problem strted about a month ago. once i got closer to 50 mph accelerating and decelerating i would get an odd vibration an deep bass like sound. I was concerned but didnt worry. its a daily driver and i guess i subconsciously got used to it.My uncle borrowed the truck to haul some junk and said it was running real funny, missfiring or something. So i hoped in and as soon as i put it into gear and stepped on the gas, it started shaking, so much my antenna was "twanging". After about 25-30 mph its not really bad.
I replaced ll the plugs ( one was coverd in oil # 5), i got a new cap and rotor, new plugs, new fuel filters, cheked for vacuum leaks with carb cleaner, checked timing, adjused carb.I have 2 motorheads helping me out and my dads an arcraft mech. (pretty good with cars, it was his truck for 20 years).
Cant figure out what the problem is.
Gonna do a compression test tomorrow.
my guys think its a bent rod (no clanking tho.), carb problem, or still electrical.
pardonmy gramar, im mentally exauhsted.
thanks in advance for help.
( will also post 335 section)
