I absolutly know for sure that you will need a adapter for a NP465 and DANA 20 match. I know this 'cause I'm in the mist of it. I also believe that the Ford C4 came stock as the auto trans. for the early Bronco. It may fit without a adapter.Providing you have a C4 from an Early Bronco. Adapters from outfits like A.A. seem to be lots of money for what you get, but in the end they are a bargain. I look at it like this.Could I ,with my limited skill in metel fabrication produce a piece equivalent to theirs, with less effort then it would take me to earn an equivalent amount of $ doing my own profession.? Probably not.I do beleive the DANA 20 for the Early Bronco is pretty much a "Early Bronco specific" transfer case, and without adapters, fit only factory Bronco applications. Mark.
So ..... the 20's in the other vehicles they came in had different patterns and such???
I have heard a lot about the 435 conversion and the NV4500 as well..........
I like the sound of a five speed, but like others can't afford the cost of the kit....
SO....I will live with the three on tree for now...(maybe a Duff's shifter he thinks out loud.....)
My two cents...

I hear the C4 in the garage protesting from here....LOL

The dana 20 in the early bronco is 'bronco only' for one big reason; driver side drop for the front out-put shaft. the jeep and (very few) chevy versions are passenger side drop. as for the t-case adapter bolt pattern I don't know if they are the same as jeep. Doesn't matter though 'cause of the left handed nature of the t-case.
