engine swap.

might be a little off topic, I see there is a 95 stroke and tranny for sale in the local bargain hunter, anyonebody have any links or info on swaping it into a 79 F150? either that or ther is a 12V for sale as well...

Anything's possible with enough time, but that seems like a pretty daunting task. Out of curiosity, what are they asking for the combo & how many miles are they saying is on it?

It definitely would be a pretty unique truck when done, though!!

6,000 canadian for engine and tranny. not sure one the mileage. I see in the new Diesel power or last months issue ther is a guy with a 7.3 in his bronco. but it only shows one pic, all I can tell is that is an OBS.

I would use the cummins personally. Cheaper power.

A lot of guys like the CTDs, but I'm not a fan of their sound or Frankentrucks. I love how the PSDs sound, though. One thing to be prepared for on a "deal" like that is a smoked tranny -- no way to test until it's in the truck (unless there's lot of metal/toasted fluid in the pan).

this is true, I was also leaning towards the cummins because they area bit simpler and like you say cheaper power
