Door lock ***** are irrelevant for slowing down theives, I watched a reformed thief roll down my window with it down a 1/4 of an inch, just to show he could do it. He then took a piece of metal pallet banding, and opened all for doors in about a minutes time with it. Locks slow down honest folks, bricks, spring loaded punches, porcelain spark plug insulators, tire irons, etc will open any lock.
The second irrelevant point I would like to add is that 30+ years is alot of time for previous owners to customize their trucks to their liking.
I remember once when I was at a anger management class and I locked my keys in my truck, and a couple a thieves happened to be in the class. I was ready to call a locksmith when one of them said he could have my door opened in under 10 seconds without breaking anything.
Makes you wish that you knew some of their skills, without the potential for getting locked in the pokey doesn't it? My last locksmith call cost me $110.
I was proud of myself, my building inspector locked himself out of his car. Four of us had our pallet banding, working on getting the doors open. I got my door open, sat in the back seat and watched them for about 5 minutes before they realized that I was inside the car already.....

I most definetly do not want to know the things they do... I will happily use a key to open any lock I need for the remainder of my existence... its a good thing I don't teach those classes anymore, they were getting pretty big.
I keep a spare key and lock cylinder in my tool box in case I manage to lock myself out again, only happened once in 5 years.
