how come i see all varieties of fords from f350 and f250 in both diesel and gas both SRW and DRW (350) , but when it comes to chevy i NEVER see a 3500 SRW...let alone i see more 3500 dually CC that are gassers and not diesels... is there a reason chevy sells more gassers than diesels and how come i only see 2500 in SRW applications. and also i know you can tell fords size engine buy either the v10 symbol, the PSD symbol or nothing at all indicating the 5.4....but how can you tell if the chevy is 8.1 or 6.0...the reason i ask is because my dad comented on how many CC dually chevys are gassers
Chevy has a bigger gas engine available. the 6.0L and 8.1L gas motors are beast compaired to the 5.4 or 6.8, respectively. I don't think there is any significant indicator of displacement on the out side.
they dont anymore...but prior to the new systle they did...as far as the 6.0 and 8.1 being beast compared to the 5.4 and 6.8...the 6.0 in the same year as mine is 300 hp and 360 ft/lbs and mine is 300 and 365...as far as the larger goes i still am going to stand by and say the v10 is the best and strongest gasser alive...the 6.8 is 363 hp and 457 ft/lbs and the 8.1 is 330 hp and 457 ft/lbs...i dont take that as beaing better that the 5.4 or 6.8....
I was thinking LSx motors. However, I think the 8.1L do produce thier power earlier than V10. Making more use of the lower RPMs. I have only driven them, I don't much care for them.
