Thanks .. I just got back from Carlisle PA from the Ford Show.. Was not real impressed with the show. They should call it the All Mustang Show, not the All Ford Show. Well anyway before I left I disconnected the EGR, cleaned it, removed the throttle plate and re-installed the superchips program on tow mode. I did not tow anything except for 4 people in the cab. Well let me tell you... My mileage increased.. My truck would hover around 12 MPG on the highway crusing, towing nothing, around 75MPH. Well to and from PA, total trip with driving around carlisle and such was 800 miles, I averaged around 15 to 16 MPG, Damn.. and the power was good. Put my foot onti it a couple of times and was OK for me.. Enough power. I also noticed my EGT's went down about 200+ degrees with an outside heat of 90 degrees. the truck used to be around 900 degrees cruisung on a hot day but since I did theses small changes, big difference. I did though go to a Ford Truck Display, again not impressed, but got a chance to talk to some people from Ford about the new 6.4. Well we chatted for a while and I told them what I did to my 6.0 and they said by disconnecting the EGR and removing the throttle plate, is a BIG help in the performance. They were using a 2008 F-450 Crew Cab Dually with 4.88 gears pulling a trailer that was around 18K loaded and the F-450 was getting between 6-8 MPG. They did tell me though to wait till the 2009 come out. By then most of the problems with the 6.4 should be takened care of. This is all not bad for a 2004, F-350 Crew Cab Dually with a 6.0 and 4.10 gears and being 4x4. I think I will keep the truck this way from now on. And the striaght 4" exhaust was not even noticable in the cab at crusing speeds. But sounded awesome when I had to get on it.
