Garage

How many of you are able to park your F-350's in your home garage? We're planning on having a detached garage built in the next year or two and I'd like to know if anyone had one custom built. I'd imagine it won't fit in most "stock" garages. Anyone have any pics they would like to share?

Thanks.

Yup, a stock garage isn't gonna get it. My stock 250 crew 4x4 with stock tires is too tall to fit into the garage. I can pull the nose it to change the oil etc but the truck is too tall. It's also a damn tight squeeze to fit the mirrors in without folding them in.

I would definitely suggest putting in at least a 8' tall garage door. Taller if you think you might ever lift the truck.

I have a 24' deep garage and it fits only by a few inches. I built my house in 2001, with a 3.5 car attached garage. That long bed really cut it close. BUT IT FITS! Originally built to make sure I could house an Excursion.

I put up a 30 by 50 foot metal garage with two 12 by 10 foot doors. It has 12 foot eaves with a 17 foot peak thus giving me clearance for a two post assymetrical lift. Lot easier walking under the truck than crawling under it.

9' tall X 10' wide doors is what I had put in when I built mine, had to do it over again I would have made the doors a little bigger.

I have a 24x24 garage with a 7' door it clears the door by an 1" with stock 18" tires. Length wise I probally have 6" to spare. I wish I had a taller door so I could run larger tires.

24' x 28' long with 7' doors. My f-350 with 305s fit in with less than an inch. My shop has a 10'x12' door that is the way to go...

mine fits--cc f250 w/8 foot bed, no lift and 315/70-17s. I have about 1 1/2 feet left over If I park straight. No height issues.

Mine fits in my garage and I have quite a bit room left over all the way round, I have a standard garage door, but I will admit my garage is longer then the standard one, but same width.

Since I didn't think it would be appropriate to post pics of my neighbors house, I searched around on the net and found a pic that's similar to what they had built. They did it for their motorhome, but it would be perfect for our trucks.

I am going off of memory, so forgive me if the dimensions do not quite work out. I love the size of my garage and it is the reason I bought my house. If I had to do it again I would build the lay out the same I would just change a few detail of construction...anyway

my garage would be a 24' by 24' building with a 16' wide by 8' door. Ceilings at 9'. I said it would be 24' by 24' but I have an 8' long by 12' wide extension at the back end of the garage( opposite the overhead door). This makes one bay 32' long. The door is aligned next to the 32' wall to allow full use of the long bay. This gives lots of storage on next to the other bay ( about 6' x 24) I have parked my old 96 ext cab long box in this garage with 16' lumber still in the box. Great layout, although my garage is way to messy to start posting pics on the internet.
