So far it seems that the Diesel Kleen allows my truck to run faster ,but it also the loudest. Marvins Mystery Oil makes truck run quieter, but not as strong. Sea Foam and my truck do not get along at all. Do you guys have anymore suggestions of additives to try out ? Have you had the same outcome ?
I'd stick to the Diesel Kleen. I love that crap. When you use if for a while and suddenly run out you can (at least I can) really feel the difference. With it I have power to spare at about 18.8 miles to the gallon. With out it I have a drop off of power and about a mile per gallon. Down to 17.5 - 17.8
I tried Howes this past winter as this is what all the truckers were recommending at truck stops. I liked it as my truck seemed to have a little more towing power. I've always run PowerService since it it available at Wallyworld, but now they've really jacked their prices up so I'm looking elsewhere. I also run Stanadyne and Diesel Kleen. I've been interested in running RBP's additive to see if there is any difference. I honestly can't really say that I've noticed a big difference from one to the other in terms of fuel mileage, but I am glad to know that doing this does benefit the injectors. I also run B5 biodiesel sometimes as I consistently get slightly better mileage doing so. Just a little food for thought.
Im pretty stuck on using Howes anymore. I personally think its the best all around, year around formula. plus the bottle doesnt leak everywhere once opened.
Hi all. I am on my first diesel, f250 2007. With about 22,000 miles on her. I have read abit on sditives. The manual says not to use any fuel additives, or it may void the warranty. After reading some of your posts I am concidering to use Diesel Kleen. What gives. And am I protecting myself in the long run or short term gain (fuel mpg).

viking are you that is fuel additives that will void warranty? I believe oil additives will void it.
I think that using an additive is protecting you in the long run and at the same time paying for it self in the short run. I use diesel klien or lucus. I use 1oz of additive for every 3 gal. of fuel. I use the diesel klien over the lucus cause of price but I've noticed good results from both.
Viking, I think using a fuel additive is must anymore, PowerService, Diesel Kleen, Howes, Stanadyne, those are the main ones, or motorcraft has some. I think almost all of us on here use one. Ive never filled up without any. Keeps your injectors going good, helps fuel mileage and many other plus's.
Headviking, I think you may have misread it. I am pretty sure it says not to use any additives WITH ALCOHOL IN THEM, and none of the additives we are suggesting have alcohol in them.
Thanks to all that replied. I will reread the manual and try using Diesel Kleen for a couple of months. I'll keep an eye on my mpg for any changes. Thanks again to all here.

I've been using Stanadyne since I bought my truck. No complaints, but I haven't tried anything else. Maybe I'll give one of the others a shot. I've been pulling down 20-21 mpg on flat interstates at 65.
The more I run this tank with Marvel Mystery Oil the more I feel that I have lost power. I will say my truck seems to run a bit more quite , but the loss of power is not worth it. Have not tried Lucas or Stanadyne because I dont know where to purchase it. So far Diesel Kleen is the winner with me.
