I have a 73 bronco and am considering replacing the carburator... Question is what type and brand is best... I don't race it or do heavy duty off roading... Just want it to run good...
Thanks
I've got a 75' with the 302 and I've got a 500cfm Edelbrock Performer, and Performer intake on mine which work pretty good. The only down fall is it took quite a bit of tuning out of the box to get it running good. Holley also makes great carbs with little or no tuning, but I'd have to say if I was gonna do it all over I'd get a Carter. I have never known anyone who had to tune a Carter out of the box. I'm sure I'll catch some slack for that but for reliability and performance and money I'd say a Carter would be your best bet.
carter is what i would spend my money on. it has a central bowl so the fuel dosent get sloshed from one side to the other starving the engine, it also has big secondarys.
You must be talking about the old Carters, which are getting harder to find. Carter has been owned by Edelbrock for many years now and are in every way identicle to the Ebok carbs. Go figure why they list the "Carter" at 625cfm and the identicle ebok at 6 even. Thought I'd mention this because many people don't realize they are the same carb now. Ah well, I prefer Holleys anyways.
