92/2.3 tach install

92/2.3 tach install
I've been looking over at RangerPowerSports, and no luck. I know where all the wires go except the green one. Where is the Tachometer Service Connector located on a 92 2.3L Ranger? Also what color wire do I tap it into? I am having NO luck whatsoever finding information on this.

Located in the big plug through the firewall near the clutch pedal, it's tan with a white stripe. Remember that you have to tap into this wire, not cut it and attach one end to the green wire, as the computer still wants this signal.

You can do that, but I believe the signal may be problematic due to the two-plug design. I'd reccommend using the tan/white wire I mentioned, which is designed purely as a tach signal wire.
