hey all im new here so not sure if anyone else has had this issue or not but my 02 F-350 when i floor it i loose power and i get a kind of wooping air leak noise from under the hood. not sure what it could be, also one of the times a check engine light came on but when i drove it normal back to the house it went off plz help!!

 

Sounds to me like one of your intercooler boots popped off. There are four of them 2 in the center of the engine 2 up front. They get oily and can pop off under boosted conditions. Clean them up and crank them down with an 11 mm deep socket

Do you have a way of pulling the codes? That will help narrow things down pretty quick. Check your intercooler boots to make sure they are clean, tight and not torn. Also look at your MAP signal hose and make sure it's connected and not broken or torn.

 

checked all boots and they are on and tight but there is a lot of dirt and oil all over the boots. so next i plan on taking them off and clean everything

 

I would lean a littl more towards a blown hose. It may be still holding together with no to little load but as you increase boost it lows open
