Hi guys, can anybody tell me where the Intake Air Temp. sensor is located on my 1988 F-250 4.9L I6.
A picture or diagram if available would be awesome!!
I believe your IAC is the only other sensor on your throttle body besides your TPS (throttle position sensor). The IAC should be mounted on the very top of your throttlebody, centered. It only has 2 wires coming out of it and the connector points towards the front of the truck.
As far as I know.. which isn't very far... I think IAT's are found on the newer Mass Air trucks such as the 1996 4.9's. The IAC is the speed density way of measuring the intake charge temperature... I think.
It does have an IAT. It is screwed into the #1 cylinder intake manifold runner. There are also some that have them in the airbox, but I think yours should be in the intake.
Silver Streak, thanks for clearing up my confused mess. I'm going to go look at my truck just so I know where it's at and how hard it is to get off if I ever need to get it off.
