CFM question on electric fan

I,m going to put a 400 in my 54 f-100 (just a little more then stock) that i am building, the radiator that i'm useing is a 3 core that is for a 72 f-100 and i'm looking at installing a 14 or 16 inch electric fan but how does one know how much/many CFM's is needed? I will be running a c-6 with the cooling line going thru/to the radiator. What a great forum for someone's first project. Thanks

Unless you are planning on running in deep water or drag racing a thermostatic clutch fan with shroud would be better, cheaper, and more reliable.

For electrics:

Use the biggest fan that will fit, or two smaller ones.

Use a shroud.

Straight blades move more air than curved but are noisier.

I have a 400 (stroked to 434) in my '53 F100. I have a 4 row radiator and a flex fan on my water pump. I also run a thermostatically operated 16" electric pusher fan in front of the radiator. Due to the location of the motor, I have not been able to find a suitable shroud for my radiator. I need the electric fan because I don't have a shroud. This setup provides ample cooling under all conditions.
