My first question.

As stated above I'm new here so please be patient. I have an 01 "X" thats a two wheel drive and 7.3 I use it for the wife's soccer mom duties and to tow our 35' camper. I would like to take a small alumminum boat as well have any of you guys put a boat on top of the excursion ? How does it work and how much does it cost ? thanks for your time folks.

ditto what XHunter said..... get a better after market one and you'll be fine. Just strap it down good.

thanks guys, I've seen one set up that would actually load the boat with some kind of winch set up (I think) . Anybody know about this sort of thing ?

I seen a Ram one time that had a front winch and bush bar that the guy had built a removable A frame that allowed him to run the cable up and over the top of his truck and load an aluminum boat upside down on top. Then he just left the winch line connected and held the boat down with a couple ratchet straps. Seemed to work okay.
