I have a 2002 F-250 with a 7.3 diesel. Ita has almost 60,000 miles.
I ran all over town today, no problems. Turned into the neighborhood and truck died 4 times in a mile. Took awhile, but was able to start it back up and limp it home. I replaced the fuel filter and the truck will start, but continues to die, some time it'll idle 2 minutes, sometime as long as 5 minutes, but won't stay running. What do I do next?
Thanks, Gordeaux
bingo wingo...classic CPS intermintent failure. you should be able to get a new one at your local ford dealer for $25-$30 if they tell you its $120+ tell them you want the new one or you will just get it online....defuser.com

OK, I got the sensor from the dealer ($29) and I found it on the truck, but excusing my ignorance, where is the fuse box (fuse #9) under the hood? Thanks for all the help, guys.
Ok, guys. The job has been completed and the truck has been running for 15 minutes in the driveway. So far so good. The real test will come when I put it on the road. Thanks to every one who helped. Ford Truck Enthusists Rocks!!!
I had the same problem last weekend. Changed the fuel filter and the CPS. Took it in to have the codes checked and found the MAP sensor out. Haven't put enough miles on it yet to be sure it's fixed but the computer said it was.
