Is there a different part number for the Fram fuel filter for the 2006 5.4l F150.
I bought a Fram G8018 and the ends were smaller in diameter than the factory fuel filter. I did install it but it leaked as soon as I turned the key so I put the old back on. Probably will buy a Motorcraft filter.
DRM is right I just got a fuel filter for my 04 $15 at ford and $12 at NAPA so I went for the MC filter, anymore on filters and small items ford is within a couple of bucks of the parts stores.
I bought a MC FG-986B and the pipe ends were the same size as the Fram G8018 so if I installed it there would be a leak. I called the my Ford dealer parts department and asked them if the was a change somewhere during the 2006 F150 production run with the fuel filters for the 5.4L engine. My truck has a May 2006 production date. He told me that there was a change, I believe he said Nov. 2005 there was a change. The correct filter is a MC FG-1083. I ordered it and had them deliver it. It has the larger end pipes( that connect into the fuel line). I didn't install it yet and will let you know if it's correct. I checked the owners manual which was printed May 2006 which lists the FG-986B as the correct one, I'm confused. Are any Ford parts guys here who can check it?
