I've got a brand new 2007 Lariat Supercrew with the 6.5' bed and climate control. When I'm stuck in traffic for extended periods of time the AC starts blowing warm air. The air doesn't turn cold again till I start moving at a reasonable speed. If adjust the AC colder, the fan blows harder but AC doesn't get colder. Anyone else have this issue?
The AC on my 04 isn't worth the powder to blow it to hell ford says is withing specs, but I thought they fixed it in 06-07 had heard the early mmodels just had to small a compressor??

Hi and Welcome to Ford-Truck Enthusiasts!
"Some" were also Underfilled with ref. Let the service guys have it (provided that you're under warranty) they should automatically throw a thermometer and a maifold gauge set on.
Iirc the spec calls the exterior/interior difference should be about 40 degrees.

If that does not work I bought an ele fan and put it in front of the cond. and it helped alot. It will push more air threw to keep it cooled down, You got to love R134, I want my R12 back...
Thanks guys... I wasn't sure if I was the only one. I've had a couple of rangers and a '97 F150 with a v6 and never had a problem. This is my first v8 and it's only a month old. I guess I've got to take it in for it's first service appointment. If that doesn't work I'll try the electric fan. Do they make one specifically for the F150? Besides the AC, the truck is amazing.
I'm interested in rigging something up for the tranny cooler for when I'm towing in heavy traffic...
Also, RJ24...have you tried blowing out your radiator with a pressure washer or a hose? We had that problem in Afghanistan...dust would clog the A/C condensor, and the air conditioner wouldn't work at all. we took the truck to the wash rack, had them blow the radiator out, and it went fine...
An air conditioner is nothing but a heat pump, and relies on a condensor to radiate heat out of the cabin.
They havent changed squat since 04... same crap AC since day one. Hotline says 45 at outlet average is normal. You are on your own to make it work better. Extended stops in traffic will net hotter air...period. Slower fan speeds will help.
If an external fan helps let us all know and Ill give it a go.

Crap is right.... I've got an '06 R/C and you would think with that small a cab area the A/C would freeze you out of there. Nope, blows cool but I wouldn't say COLD. And it cycles on and off so loudly it's almost embarassing when stopped at a light.
Nascardude, your AC shouldnt have an annoying loud clutch but they do normally have one that can be heard. All of them are like that. If its annoying loud maybe they need to close the air gap on the clutch a little.
One thing that might help AC is a water valve to the heater. These do not have any vacuum controls anymore so no water valve. Maybe adding a manual controlled valve would help.

Maybe mine isn't louder than anyone else's, I'm just not one to have the stereo blasting and I listen to vehicle sounds probably more than most people. If Ford would give us back the under hood insulation you probably wouldn't hear it at all. As for the temp, I'm in Florida, it don't get much hotter than here, especially when you're in bumper to bumper traffic. Even so, Ford should give us a stronger compressor.
Took my truck in for service. It ended up being the AC clutch. The AC works good now. Still not as cold as some of the vehicles i've owned but it does blow cold all the time now.
