Question rack & pinion

Has anyone converted a bumpside 2 wd to rack & pinion steering?

Yup, but it also has the rest of the IFS package.... Shouldn't be all that tough to do up some bracketry and install the rack... Watch the bumpsteer when you do it, could be a challenge to get it right with the I-beams being so long.... I'd imagine it would require some creative engineering on the tie rod lengths and angles.....

Just thinking about it, visualizing in my head the front suspension of these thucks it seems to me it should be do-able. But you'd need a rear-steer rack (one that's located behind the crossmember on the donor vehicle). If you installed a rack off a car with front-steer, (like a Mustang) it would turn the wheels the wrong direction when you crank the whell. Not fun to drive it that way, I would imagine...
