Ive got a 73 f-100 with a 390 fe ive done all i could do with out breaking into the engine new carb ,water pump,radiator, alt , brakes , front end wire harness when they say painless Bu-l Sh-t but i cant figure out some times when i let the truck warm up when i put it into reverse it jerks real hard but i dosent do it all the time can some one tell me whats up????????

My wifes Excursion has exactly the same problem, once in a while when you put it in reverse, nothing happens. Then as soon as you touch the gas pedal it bangs into reverse. The Ford dealer doesn't have a clue why it does it. Keep us posted.
