I have a 2004 Expedition w/ about 67k miles on the clock. Last night I drove the car about 5 miles to a spot where it sat for about 4-5 hours. When I went to leave, I put my foot on the brake before turning the ignition...the brake pedal would barely budge. I started it anyway & heard a hissing sound as the brake went very easily to the floor like there was no push back.
Put it in drive, let off the brake slowly & starting moving. Pushed the brake again...same hissing, no resistance as the pedal went quickly to the floor, and the brake worked immediately! Let off again & same thing..hissing noise as I applied the brake, no resistane & aprupt stop.
I put the car in park & revved it up a little as I began to think how I was going to get home. Decided to try once more & all was fine. 5 mile trip home, with a lot of stop lights/signs along the way, was perfect.
Any ideas...drove it a bunch today & still no problem.
