Well I have my new 428 done and running !! But,,,,I have a big problem with the headers. Do to the fact that I put a high pinion d60, there is only 1/4" between the header and front driveshaft. I had to pull the driveshaft so I could drive it. I sure as hell wasnt going to let it just sit there with that new engine and not be able to drive it.
So the only solution I can come up with is a 4" suspention lift. The problem with that is about $1300.
I was wondering if anyone else has ran into this. If so, is there another header that will clear. New headers would be alot cheaper.
I know, on my '74 highboy, I put in a '76 power booster and it cleared the valve cover without any problems. And that booster was MUCH thicker than the original, but SMALLER in diameter. Sounds like you need to go to the auto parts store and mix-and-match...
My headers came very close to the front driveshaft too, but I had a low-pinion Dana 44 front. Sorry, can't help on that one
So is the 76 booster going to be the smallest that will fit? If so, I may need a small body lift on top of the suspention lift. The next thing will be an extention ladder for my wife. Or just not let her ride with LOL!
